I hope that everyone is doing well so far in this pandemic. I am sure that many of us try not to be worried but we can’t help it when our problems aren’t being solved. I am deeply saddened by those who are suffering the most and I hope that my three calming methods can help you anytime you are going through hardship.
1. Accept that there is a problem. Many of us are prideful. We can’t accept that we can’t always do everything right away because it makes us feel useless. We get embarrassed for losing our car, house and money as if it is our duty to keep up with society.
Everything we have has never belonged to us. It was given and one day it will be taken back. Will we stay the same or change?Thoughts I have when I think of Job.
2. Words of affirmation was always something I laughed at because it was so silly to talk to yourself. Now, I do it because I am the only person who truly understands who I am and what I need.
This is enough. You are good enough.
3. Breathe because that is what we can control. I have been taking deep breaths when I feel out of control or when I need to control myself. I also turn on my breathing application on my Apple Watch at night to give me a head start. Even after the breathing session is done I keep taking deep breaths until I fall asleep.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.Matthew 6:33-34
No matter what we do it’s always a waiting game. Until then accept it, tell yourself you have done enough and take a deep breath.
